RONCH
Ronch was born in Treviglio (Italy) in 1985 and grew up in Trezzo sull'Adda (Milan), the land of gloomy Viscontian memories, ambiguous Leonardian backgrounds and nocturnal Manzonian passages. While school was a challenge for him, he did discover he had a natural affinity for painting, drawing, Italian literature and Art history. He studied the secrets of engraving at the Brera Academy in Milan under Bernardino Luino and in late 2011 he founded the legendary group A.N.S.I.A. (Italian for "anxiety") together with other young romantic artists, symbolists, surrealists and expressionists. The group remained active until 2014, when Ronch moved to the United Kingdom.
Ronch’s work is a quiet glance into a churning mind that does not fear its own nightmares, blending fragments of memories with dream-like abstraction in meticulous detail. Ronch’s “punk-surrealist" style has an eerie ambience which leaves you oscillating between a mild discomfort to astonishment and recognition and back again.
Ronch’s layered symbolism challenges and captivates in equal measure. As a finalist in the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2023 tv series, Ronch's storytelling prowess and intricate artistry is gaining significant acclaim.
